# Introducing Routing for Pedestrians

Not every delivery happens behind the wheel.

In high-density urban environments, a growing number of deliveries and service jobs are completed on foot – whether that’s navigating busy CBDs, accessing restricted areas, or simply moving faster without a vehicle.

With Radaro’s latest update, you can now plan, optimise, and manage these deliveries just as effectively as vehicle-based routes.

## Meet the pedestrian transport profile

As part of our new Transport Profiles within the Routing Service, we’ve introduced a Pedestrian profile – designed specifically for teams operating on foot or using public transport.

This means you can now extend Radaro’s powerful routing, real-time tracking, and customer communication capabilities to foot-based operators, not just those in vehicles.

## Why this matters

Pedestrian routing unlocks new possibilities:

- Optimised routes for foot-based operators in high-density areas.
- Improved efficiency where vehicles are impractical or slower.
- Track foot-based operators in real time with full visibility.
- Increase safety of team members (visibility = safety).
- Greater flexibility across mixed fleets (vehicles + on-foot teams).
- Consistent customer experience, regardless of how the job is completed.
- Maintain a single view of all jobs, in one platform.

## Create a Pedestrian Transport Profile

In the Radaro Management Portal, go to Settings >> Add-Ons >> Transport Profiles >> Add New.

Set a Profile name, select ‘pedestrian’ as vehicle type and add a description.

Once the Transport Profiles have been created, you can apply the profile to the Driver by updating the [Driver Profile](https://support.radaro.com.au/managing-driver-profiles?hsLang=en) and applying the correct Transport Profile to each Driver.
